Step by Step Method
Step 1
In a bowl
Step 2
Combine salt, sugar, soy sauce, white pepper and 1/2 teaspoon cornstarch
Step 3
Add chicken and coat all sides.
Step 4
Let rest for about 15 minutes.
Step 5
In a wok
Step 6
Heat 1 tablespoon of the vegetable oil, saute marinated chicken, cook 3 minutes or until barely cooked through

Remove chicken and drain.
Step 8
Heat the remaining tablespoon oil in wok
Step 9
Add garlic and onion, saute until golden brown.
Step 10
Add chicken and black pepper with remaining vegetables.
Step 11
Add 1/2 cup water and sesame chili oil.
Step 12
Mix 1 teaspoon cornstarch with 2 teaspoons water. Add to mixture and cook until mixture thickens.
Step 13
Check for seasoning
