Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon white pepper
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon cornstarch, divided
  • 8 ounces boneless skinless chicken breast, sliced,(1 cup)
  • 2 tablespoons oil, divided
  • 1 teaspoon garlic, smashed
  • 1 cup onion,sliced
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 cup celery,sliced
  • 1 cup green bell pepper,sliced
  • 1 cup carrot slices, 1/4-inch
  • 1/2 cup baby corn
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 teaspoon hot sesame chili oil
  • 2 teaspoons water

How to Make

  • Step 1: In a bowl

  • Step 2: Combine salt, sugar, soy sauce, white pepper and 1/2 teaspoon cornstarch

  • Step 3: Add chicken and coat all sides.

  • Step 4: Let rest for about 15 minutes.

  • Step 5: In a wok

  • Step 6: Heat 1 tablespoon of the vegetable oil, saute marinated chicken, cook 3 minutes or until barely cooked through

  • Step 7: Remove chicken and drain.

  • Step 8: Heat the remaining tablespoon oil in wok

  • Step 9: Add garlic and onion, saute until golden brown.

  • Step 10: Add chicken and black pepper with remaining vegetables.

  • Step 11: Add 1/2 cup water and sesame chili oil.

  • Step 12: Mix 1 teaspoon cornstarch with 2 teaspoons water. Add to mixture and cook until mixture thickens.

  • Step 13: Check for seasoning
