  • When measuring the flour, use a spoon and level it off with the back of a knife to ensure accuracy.
  • If you don't have buttermilk, you can substitute it with one tablespoon of white vinegar added to 1 cup of milk and let it sit for 5 minutes.

  • Substitute almond milk for buttermilk: Almond milk is a great vegan alternative to dairy milk and has a creamy texture that works well in waffles. It is also lower in fat and calories than buttermilk, making it a healthier choice.
  • Substitute coconut oil for butter: Coconut oil is a plant-based alternative to butter that has a mild flavor and a high smoke point. It is also loaded with healthy fats, making it a great choice for those looking for a healthier option.

Chocolate Chip Waffles Add 1/4 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips to the batter before pouring into the waffle iron. Bake according to the manufacturer's instructions.

Caramelized Bananas: Caramelized bananas are a great way to add a sweet and delicious topping to your waffles. The combination of the warm bananas and the sweet caramel sauce pairs perfectly with the waffles and adds a touch of decadence to the dish.

Whipped Cream: Whipped cream is the perfect accompaniment to caramelized bananas and waffles. The light and airy texture of the cream complements the sweetness of the bananas and the richness of the waffles. It also adds a touch of indulgence to the dish, making it a truly special breakfast or dessert.

We did a full recipe (the DH made it up and cooked in our Tefal machine which has inter-changeable plates and waffles is one of them), We got 2 large waffles each and still had half the mix left over so used that and have frozen the waffles for later use. I enjoyed mine we some ice-cream but the DH thought they were a little gritty from the cornmeal (I think mine was not fine enough) but we both agree that they are definitely better than the commercial ones. Thank you Galley_Wench, made for Alphabet Soup Game.
