"I found this in a Bon Appetit magazine.Cooking time does not include marinating time."
Blend shallot, garlic, brown sugar, fish sauce, soy sauce, oil and pepper in a blender. Transfer marinade to a large resealable plastic bag. Add pork chops and turn to coat. Seal bag, pressing out air; chill at least 1 hour and up to 12 hours.
Prepare a grill for medium-high heat. (Alternatively, heat a grill pan over medium-high. Remove pork chops from marinade, letting excess drip back into bag; season both sides with salt. Grill pork chops, tuning once, until lightly charred about 2-3 minutes per side.

Very tasty! I'm not a fan of fish sauce so I used 1/4 cup low sodium soy sauce instead. I also broiled instead of grilling because I'm lazy. I marinated about 6 hours, and will go longer next time to let the flavour get further inside. There will definitely be a next time!
I used about 1 inch thick pork chops. The chops were tender and the flavors went together real well. My sister and niece were over and they raved about these all night long. Of course they went home with the recipe. I will make these often, as I have to agree, they are delicious!
I used pork tender loins for this recipe.
I followed the ingredients and directions as written, and these turned out perfectly.
DH and DS said "There were good flavours and the pork was tender". This was enjoyed by them both.
Except for the pork, everything was on hand in my fridge or pantry, so this made for one easy and wonderful recipe.
I really enjoyed the chops prepared this way. It was quick and easy to make with excellent results. The pork was tender and very flavorful. Thank you for sharing a recipe that I will make again. Made FYC Tag Game.
