Step by Step Method

In a medium mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, ginger, and salt. Use a pastry blender to cut in shortening till mixture resembles coarse crumbs

Baking directions: Preheat oven to 375. Empty contents of jar into mixing bowl and stir to combine. In a small bowl combine 1 egg, 2 tablespoons pineapple juice or milk, and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla. Add to flour mixture and stir till well combined. Drop by rounded spoonful onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 9 to 10 minutes or until just lightly browned. Transfer cookies to a wire rack and let cool
