"This is a to die for recipe! Not healthy, but worth it once in awhile :) It's my mom's recipe (I'm sure you've heard that one before :) "

Step by Step Method

Step 1

Cook cabbage in 2 cups water in covered pan for 5-8 minutes or until tender; drain.

Step 2

Fry bacon. Remove bacon and crumble.

Step 3

Add sugar and flour to remaining fat and blend.

Step 4

Add water, vinegar, salt and pepper and sliced onion. Cook until thick, stirring occasionally, about 5 minutes.

Step 5

Add bacon and cabbage and heat through.

This is a wonderful way to serve cabbage. We loved it. We like a more tart taste, so we added a bit more vinegar and brown sugar, but you are right, a recipe to die for! Great taste! A real winner! We plan to make again in the near future! Thanks!
