Step by Step Method
Step 1
Beat eggs and sugar until thick and lemon colored.
Step 2
Mix in flour. If dough is dry, add 3 tablespoons milk, 1 tablespoon at a time.
Step 3
Cover and chill 2 hours.
Step 4
Roll out dough 1/8 inch thick on lightly floured surface.
Step 5
Press well floured Springerle mold onto dough to emboss designs.
Step 6
Cut out cookies and sprinkle with anise seed.
Step 7
Let stand 10 hours to dry.
Step 8
Heat oven to 325.
Step 9
Place cookies 1/2 inch apart on ungreased baking sheet.
Step 10
Bake 12-15 minutes or until light brown.
Step 11
Immediately remove from baking sheet.
