Step by Step Method

Step 1

Heat oil in a large skillet. Add onion; cook over low heat for 20 minutes. Add sugar; cook an additional 20 minutes, or until tender and golden brown. Add olives, season with salt and pepper

Step 2

Prepare spaghetti according to package directions. Toss in the cooked pasta to onion mixture. Serve with Parmesan cheese.

What a great taste combination. Do take the time, 40 minutes, to carmelize the onions. I had them on just above low the whole time. The only thing I would change is the amount of olive oil - I would cut that back to 1 1/2 tablespoons. That is just personal taste so I did not sutract a star. My friend said it was just right the way it was. A difinite do again recipe

I liked everything in this and when I saw it I knew I had to make it soon! This is simple to make and it has lots of great taste too. I added in grape tomatoes with great results. This will be enjoyed again!
