Sour Cream Raisin Squares

"I found this in taste of home many years ago. I have had friends request that I make a pan of it and another for her holiday table. Remember times differ for every oven as there temperatures vary. A little sweet may cut sugar down when I make again."

Step 1

In bowl, cream butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.

Step 2

Combine Flour, Oats, baking powder, baking sod and salt; gradually add to creamed mixture (mixture will be crumbly). Set aside 2 cups; pat remaining crumbs into a greased 13 inch x 9 inch baking pan.

Step 3

Bake for 15 minutest 350 . Cool.

Step 4

Meanwhile, in a small saucepan, combine filling ingredients. Bring to boil; cook and stir for 5-8 minutes. Pour over crust; sprinkle with reserved crumbs.

Step 5

Bake 15 minutes longer.

Delicious! DH and I had a piece with a cuppa and I wanted more! So over the afternoon I evened it off right to the edge of the pan. lol I used currants for the raisins and cut the sugar in half for the filling. Which for us was just perfect. Will be going in the goodie boxes for gifts. Thanks for sharing Judy!
