"The North Sea coast is famous for it's wide variety of delicious seafood. Smoked salmon (lachs, lox, laks in various languages) is one of my favorites. This open faced sandwich is popular on Danish Smørrebrød."

Loved this! Ten stars, if I could. We used a good quality German rye, which probably makes all the differnce. Slathered more butter than called for (LOL). It's a very pretty sandwich, and tastes great, too! Definitely recommend slicing the lemon and cucumber as thinly as possible, and using an English cucumber, rather than a regular (large-seeded) one. Thanks for sharing - this is a keeper!
