Step by Step Method

Step 1

Place the trout fillet, skin side down on a double layer of foil that has been coated with olive oil.

Step 2

Pat the top of the filet dry and sprinkle with salt and lemon pepper to taste.

Step 3

Rub the pressed garlic over the top of the trout fillet with the back of a spoon.

Step 4

Sprinkle the chopped green onion over the fillet.

Step 5

Fold the two foil pieces into a packet, making sure the packet is well sealed.

Step 6

Place in a preheated 400 degree Fahrenheit oven and cook for 20 minutes, until fish flakes easily with a fork. The cook time may vary depending on how thick your fillet it.

Step 7

Remove from foil packet and serve with your favourite side.

This is a taste treat and so easy to prepare. My trout was quite large ( 2 generous servings) and 25 minutes cooked it perfectly. This will be made many times in the future

Super easy and tasty too. In my photo you will note that my trout is not as colorful as QueenBea's and this I believe is as a result of what the fish ate in the wild. Of course that bit of info has nothing to do with the recipe. I used the non-stick foil and didn't double it as it is a heavier weight to begin with. I also used chives rather than the green onions suggested. The fish was moist and flavorful. This recipe would work with many varieties of fish and I will be using again and again. Made for Billboard Tag.
