"Instead of covering those beautiful trout fillets with a calorie laden sauce (ho-hum!)try this lovely marinade instead! Goes great with salmon, too. Recipe time does not include marinating time."

Step by Step Method

Step 1

In a small bowl or 2 cup measuring cup, combine all ingredients except the trout. Whisk until combined. Pour into a large Ziploc bag.

Step 2

Add the trout fillets to the bag, zip closed, and gently massage the fillets until they are coated with the marinade. Place in a plastic tray and marinate for 2-3 hours, refrigerated.

Step 3

Grill the fish for 3-4 minutes per side, depending on the thickness of the fillets and how hot your grill is. This is super easy to make on an indoor grill as well and leaves some nice grill marks.

Tips

  • Outdoor grill or indoor electric grill

Excellent salmon! We loved the flavor. I couldn't grill it, so chose to pan fry it using a cast iron pan. It worked well. I can't wait to try this salmon on the grill. Thank you!

I think I just found my favorite way to make salmon. This was SO good. I actually used 1 oz of all of the ingredients since I had already gotten the shot glass dirty and didn't have a clean 1/4 cup. I also used a 1 lb filet of salmon, which made 2 servings. I ate the first one hot, and plan to eat the 2nd one cold. Marinated about 3 hours and then grilled outside with the lid down, skin on one side. FYI...no alcohol flavor if that worries you. Just really flavorful fish.
