Step by Step Method
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350F. Spray a 1 1/2 qt. round oven-proof casserole dish with nonfat cooking spray; sprinkle lightly with wheat germ.
Step 2
In a large bowl combine flours, oatmeal, brown sugar, orange peel, baking powder and baking soda until well blended.
Step 3
Add milk and egg white; stir only until ingredients are moistened. Fold in sunflower seeds.
Step 4
Pour into prepared dish and bake 50-60 minutes or until pick inserted in center comes out clean. If needed, cover with foil during last 15 minutes of baking to prevent overbrowning.
Step 5
Cool in casserole 10 minutes; turn bread out onto wire rack.
Step 6
Brush top of loaf with honey and sprinkle with sunflower seeds.
