Step by Step Method
Step 1
Season the steaks with salt and pepper ,to taste. Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a hot skillet.
Step 2
Add the steaks and cook over medium heat for about 4 minutes per side.
Step 3
Remove to a plate and keep warm.
Step 4
Add the 2 tablespoons of butter to the skillet over low heat.
Step 5
Add the onion and cook until soft.
Step 6
Add the mushrooms and garlic.
Step 7
Cook until mushrooms are soft.
Step 8
Stir in the whiskey, cream, chicken broth and Marmite if you are using it.
Step 9
Increase the heat and cook to reduce the liquid. When you reach a nice consistency, remove the sauce from the heat.
Step 10
Taste and adjust seasonings.
Step 11
Add the juices from the steaks and the parsley. Serve the sauce over the steaks.
Step 12
Garnish with more parsley.
