Step 1: Season the steaks with salt and pepper ,to taste. Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a hot skillet.
Step 2: Add the steaks and cook over medium heat for about 4 minutes per side.
Step 3: Remove to a plate and keep warm.
Step 4: Add the 2 tablespoons of butter to the skillet over low heat.
Step 5: Add the onion and cook until soft.
Step 6: Add the mushrooms and garlic.
Step 7: Cook until mushrooms are soft.
Step 8: Stir in the whiskey, cream, chicken broth and Marmite if you are using it.
Step 9: Increase the heat and cook to reduce the liquid. When you reach a nice consistency, remove the sauce from the heat.
Step 10: Taste and adjust seasonings.
Step 11: Add the juices from the steaks and the parsley. Serve the sauce over the steaks.
Step 12: Garnish with more parsley.
