Step by Step Method
Step 1
Heat oven to 350º.
Step 2
Spread oats and walnuts in ungreased 151/2 x 101/2 x 1-inch baking pan.
Step 3
Bake 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until toasted and light brown

Cool.

In small bowl

Stir together flour, baking soda and salt.
Step 7
Cream together brown sugar, butter ,vanilla and egg in large bowl.
Step 8
Stir in oat mixture and then flour mixture.
Step 9
Drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls about 2 inches apart onto ungreased baking sheets.
Step 10
Bake at 350° for 8 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on pans for 3 minutes
Step 11
Remove from cookie sheet.
Step 12
Cool on wire rack.
