Step by Step Method
Step 1
Place the melted butter in a 9 inch pie plate; set aside.
Step 2
Rinse the shredded potato; drain well. Press the potato between paper towels to remove the excess moisture.
Step 3
Combine the potato, egg, salt, and pepper; stir well. Add flour, and stir well.
Step 4
Firmly press the potato mixture into the pieplate. Sprinkle with cheese and paprika.
Step 5
Bake at 400° for 35 to 40 minutes or until golden brown.
Step 6
To serve, cut into wedges.
Step 7
Garnish with sour cream and chopped green onions, if desired.
