Step by Step Method

Step 1

Wash and scrub potatoes.

Step 2

Cut into 1/4 inch thick slices and lay half of the potatoes on a double thickness of aluminum foil.

Step 3

Slice the onion thinly and lay on top of the potatoes.

Step 4

Sprinkle with chives, seasoned salt, garlic powder and pepper and dot with the butter.

Step 5

Lay the rest of the potatoes on top.

Step 6

Fold up the foil, and seal the ends securely.

Step 7

Lay the foil packet on the grill over medium heat for 20 minutes or until potatoes are tender.

These potatoes are so easy and come out perfect. I peeled the potatoes but that isn't necessary. The added garlic powder, seasoned salt & chives just add to the great flavour. I'll be making them again for sure. I baked the foil packages at 400 for35 minutes

These potatoes are perfect Bea! They taste like scalloped potatoes without the fattening white sauce. I'll be making them often, whether on the grill or in the oven, they'll be in my weekly rotation. DH and I thank you for posting!

This is such a nice recipe in that you're not using your stovetop or dirtying up a fry pan. Super easy in the oven and the taste is the same as having fried potatoes.
