Potato Galette

Step 1

Preheat oven to 200C.

Step 2

Brush a 20cm (base) round springform pan with a little of the butter and place pan on a baking tray.

Step 3

Line base of pan with a layer of potato slices, overlapping slightly and brush with butter and sprinkle over 2 tablespoons cheese and season with salt and pepper and then repeat layers 4 times to make a total of 5 layers.

Step 4

Bake uncovered, for 50 to 55 minutes or until potatoes are tender when tested with a skewer and top is golden and then let stand for 5 minutes.

Step 5

Release pan and slide galette onto a serving plate and cut into wedges and serve with a roast or grilled fish or meat of choice.

Tips & Variations

No special items needed.



I reduced the recipe down to two servings and used two small ramekin dishes...I put butter in the bottom and a piece of parchment paper in and followed the rest of the directions...I just flipped them on a plate and removed the paper...they came out perfect...and so delicious...these will be made again...made for the "Joy of Vegetables" tag game...
