"I needed something quick for dinner one night. And decided to do some freezer diving,I came up with some leftover Smoked Sausage. I combined the sausage with a few other ingredients from my fridge,and pantry and came up with this.Now as you know,with my recipes you can change up the amounts of the seasonings to suit your own tastes.If you like you could serve this with cornbread. Step by Step Method
Step 1
In a large skillet over medium heat,fry bacon until almost crisp.
Step 2
Place bacon on paper towel to absorb drippings,after bacon is cooled crumble and set aside.
Step 3
In remaining bacon "drippings" cook onions until slightly softened,then add smoked sausage add oil at this time if needed and cook until lightly browned.
Step 4
Add both cans of beans,seasonings,and crumbled bacon stirring until seasonings are well combined.
Step 5
Cover and reduce heat to simmer.
Step 6
Cook on simmer for 15 minutes or until beans are slightly tender.
