Step by Step Method
Step 1
Cream together butter, sugar and vanilla
Step 2
Sift together flour and cocoa
Step 3
Blend flour mixture into creamed mixture
Step 4
Use about 1 tbsp of the mixture for each cookie, and shape into oval cones that are about 2 inches long
Step 5
Insert a ornament hanger, or a fine curved wire into the wide end of each cone
Step 6
Place on ungreased baking sheet and bake at 300 F for approximately 25 min, or until firm
Step 7
Let cool thoroughly
Step 8
Decorate one cookie at a time
Step 9
Spread each cookie with chocolate (cooled enough that it can be spread)
Step 10
Starting at the bottom of the cookie, press rows of nuts into the frosting, over lapping slightly, up to the top
Step 11
Chill until chocolate is set
Step 12
Tie pretty ribbons to the hangers
