Step 1: Cream together butter, sugar and vanilla
Step 2: Sift together flour and cocoa
Step 3: Blend flour mixture into creamed mixture
Step 4: Use about 1 tbsp of the mixture for each cookie, and shape into oval cones that are about 2 inches long
Step 5: Insert a ornament hanger, or a fine curved wire into the wide end of each cone
Step 6: Place on ungreased baking sheet and bake at 300 F for approximately 25 min, or until firm
Step 7: Let cool thoroughly
Step 8: Decorate one cookie at a time
Step 9: Spread each cookie with chocolate (cooled enough that it can be spread)
Step 10: Starting at the bottom of the cookie, press rows of nuts into the frosting, over lapping slightly, up to the top
Step 11: Chill until chocolate is set
Step 12: Tie pretty ribbons to the hangers
