Step by Step Method

Step 1

In large pot or dutch oven melt butter and add green peppers cooking until tender.

Step 2

To the onion and green pepper mixture add the apples, brown sugar, caraway seeds, potatoes, and sauerkraut and mix well.

Step 3

Lay sausage pieces on top of sauerkraut mixture and cover with lid. Cook for 40 minutes over medium low heat and serve with hard crusty bread.

Made as directed except for using white potatoes instead of red. Turned out a bit dry but tasted very nice. I think I would add a bit of apple juice next time, just to make it juicier. Thanks for sharing. Made for the Recipebook Tag game.
