Step by Step Method

Step 1

Trim rinds from Brie. Combine Brie and next 3 ingredients in a large bowl, mix well with hands until combined. Shape cheese mixture into 1" balls. Dip balls in egg; dredge in flour.

Step 2

Dip again in egg; roll in breadcrumbs, pressing firmly so crumbs adhere. Place brie balls on wax paper; chill at least 1 hour.

Step 3

Pour oil to a depth of 2" in a Dutch oven; heat to 370-degrees-F. Fry cheese balls in batches until golden, about 1 minute; drain on paper towels. Serve immediately with Spicy Cranberry Dipping Sauce.

Step 4

Yields: 32 cheese balls.

Step 5

Combine all ingredients in a small bowl, stir well.

Step 6

Yield: 1 3/4 cups.

Daily Inspiration

We enjoyed these parmesan brie balls and the dipping sauce was wonderful. Loved the horseradish with the cranberry. I only made half a batch and we enjoyed them as an appetizer before our meal. They are a little labor-intensive, but definitely worth the effort.
