"This one was pretty close to the real PFC's, I foolishly added 2 tablespoons of hot sauce, I like things on the hot side but that amount had me wiping off the sweat, it was still fantastic but for sure not for the faint of heart, unless your used to extreme heat watch the amount of hot sauce you add in"

Step by Step Method

TO MAKE THE SPICY SAUCE

Step 1

Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Add in garlic and green onions, saute over medium heat until soft. Add pineapple juice, chili sauce, vinegar, sugar, soy sauce and salt. Combine the water and cornstarch in a separate container. Mix the cornstarch/water mixture into the sauce and stir over medium-low heat until thickened. You can add more chili sauce if you want a spicier sauce. Be sure to taste it as you go so you don’t overdo it like I did, yikes!!

TO MAKE THE CHICKEN

Step 2

In a large skillet, heat about 2 cups vegetable oil over medium-high heat.

Step 3

Prepare the batter: combine flour with salt and baking powder. In a small bowl combine egg with milk and water. Combine the dry with wet ingredients together (batter should be fairly thin). Place chicken cubes in the batter to coat. Batter should be very thin on the chicken.

Step 4

Once the oil is heated, add chicken cubes a few at a time, letting the batter drip off before placing in the oil. Cook for 3-4 minutes and turn halfway through cooking. Cook until golden brown. Remove and drain on a paper-towel-covered plate. Repeat until all chicken is cooked.

Step 5

Serve chicken with the spicy sauce. Garnish with green onion, serve on cooked rice

I really loved this spicy chicken recipe! Taste just like the original. I went a little less on the hot sauce and it turned out just right.
