"A warm, cinnamon oatmeal that cooks while you sleep for a quick, easy and hearty breakfast! I use vanilla almond milk... use whatever milk you prefer. This can get a little sticky around the edges of the crock pot. Use a crock pot liner, if that makes clean up easier for you."

Step by Step Method

Step 1

Place the oats, water, cinnamon sticks, brown sugar and vanilla in a slow cooker and stir to combine.

Step 2

Cover the slow cooker; cook on low for 8 hours.

Step 3

Discard cinnamon sticks and gently stir the oats (avoid over-stirring).

Step 4

Serve with almond milk (this will thin the oatmeal to your desired consistency), chopped pecans and chopped apple (if using).
