Step by Step Method

Step 1

Preheat oven to 400°F.

Step 2

Melt 1 tablespoon butter in a medium skillet.

Step 3

Add chopped onion and saute until tender, 5-6 minutes.

Step 4

Combine milk and egg.

Step 5

Add biscuit mix and stir until just moistened.

Step 6

Stir in onions, 1/2 cup cheese, and 1 1/2 teaspoons poppy seeds.

Step 7

Spread in a greased 8" round pan.

Step 8

Sprinkle remaining cheese and poppy seeds on top.

Step 9

Melt 2 teaspoons butter in the same skillet.

Step 10

Add sliced onion and saute until wilted, 3-4 minutes.

Step 11

Arrange sliced onion over top of dough.

Step 12

Melt remaining butter and drizzle over top.

Step 13

Bake 20 minutes.

Step 14

Cut into 8 wedges and serve warm.
