"This recipe comes from the Silver Palate Restaurant NYC, it's actually called "Surprise Flapjacks". Pecans are added, but are not necessary, the multi grains and butter milk make them fantastic just as they are."

Step by Step Method
Step 1
Process flours, oats, cornmeal, baking soda, baking powder and salt in a food processor fitted with a steel blade, then add in butter pieces and process until it resembles coarse meal
Step 2
Beat eggs and buttermilk together in a large bowl, beat in honey; then stir in flour mixture and fold in pecans (if using)
Step 3
Heat griddle; brush with oil or butter; ladle batter on griddle to make 6" cakes, cook until golden brown on both sides.
Step 4
Serve with your choice of syrup, may I suggest using maple pecan syrup? Delish
