Step 1

Preheat broiler with oven rack about 6 inches from direct heat source.

Step 2

Preheat oil in a small skillet set over medium heat. Add mushrooms, garlic and salt and cook until mushrooms have released their liquid and turned golden brown, 5 minutes. Set aside to cool.

Step 3

In a medium bowl combine sirloin, scallion, soy sauce, pepper and cooled mushrooms and mix lightly.

Step 4

Form into a patty and place on a broiler pan.

Step 5

Broil until cooked to desired doneness, 3 minutes on each side for medium, and top with Swiss cheese while hot.

Step 6

Spread each side of the bun with mustard, top with lettuce, tomato and the burger.

These were very tasty. I served them without buns and didn't really notice much mushroom taste, although the garlic came through nicely. I grated some leftover Swiss Gruyere cheese for the topping. I'll just put the mushrooms on top next time. Made for CQ2015-LBOB

Great burger - I love mushroom burgers. I followed the directions and even broiled it which I never seem to do. lol. I couldn't taste much of the mushrooms, so I think that next time I would just saute them and top the burger with them. Thanks for a great dinner, Marra. Made for Culinary Quest 2.
