Step by Step Method
Step 1
Preheat oil in heavy pot over medium-high heat. Sear meat on all sides (only takes 2-3 minutes), add water, reduce heat, and simmer 2 hours.
Step 2
Then chop meat, potatoes, carrots and onion into same size chunks as meat, add to pot and simmer 30 minutes.
Step 3
Chop cabbage into larger pieces and simmer an additional 30 minutes.
Step 4
Taste and adjust seasonings.
