  • Use a high-quality all-purpose flour for best results.
  • If you don't have golden caster sugar, white granulated sugar can be used instead.

  • Substitute the all-purpose flour for whole wheat flour for a healthier option. Whole wheat flour is higher in fiber and protein than all-purpose flour, and provides more nutrients such as magnesium, iron, and B vitamins.
  • Substitute the sunflower oil for coconut oil for a more flavorful option. Coconut oil has a nutty flavor that complements the waffle batter, and also contains healthy fats that can help raise good cholesterol levels.

Fruit Waffles Add 1/2 cup of your favorite chopped fruit to the batter and cook as usual. Serve with a dollop of Greek yogurt, a drizzle of honey, and extra fresh fruit.
