Ingredients

  • 250 grams all-purpose flour (plain)
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 25 grams golden caster sugar
  • Salt
  • 2 large eggs (beaten)
  • 475 ml milk
  • 2 tablespoons oil (sunflower oil, plus extra)
  • FOR SUGGESTING TOPPINGS (Mix-and-Match)
  • Crispy bacon
  • Fried eggs
  • Avocado slices
  • Chopped chives
  • Maple syrup
  • Chocolate sauce
  • Whipped cream
  • Toasted pecans
  • Sliced banana

How to Make

  • Step 1: To make waffles put all the dry ingredients into a bowl with half a teaspoon of salt and then mix the eggs, milk and oil in a jug and gradually mix the wet into the dry ingredients to make a batter.

  • Step 2: Brush waffle iron lightly with some extra oil (or use spray oil if you have it) and then pour the batter into the waffle iron and cook for 4 to 5 minutes until golden and cook through.

  • Step 3: Repeat with the remaining batter and when ready to serve simply let everyone choose their own toppings.
