There's always one in a crowd who doesn't follow directions and today it seems to be me. The beer sauce caught my eye, but I needed a crockpot meal. I prepared the meat mixture as directed in steps 1 and 2; then stuffed into 4 bell pepper halves. After placing the stuffed peppers in the crockpot I added the beer, lemon, and half the butter. I cooked on low for around 6 hours and then used the drippings to thicken for gravy. The meatballs were tender and the slight beer flavor was the highlight for me. They were good served with mashed potatoes and a cucumber salad. Thank you for sharing a taste of Scandinavia with us.

Wonderful meatballs, Mikekey! I did not change a thing and we had plenty of sauce. Didn't realize when I made these, but I served them with Lazyme's caraway noodles, too. Great pairing! Made these during football season!!

This was a nice meatball dish. Like Teresa, I halved the recipe for 2 of us and will double the sauce next time to have lots for the noodles that I served alongside. Thanks for sharing, Mike and congrats on your football win!

I cut the recipe in half for the two of us...it made a lot of meatballs...these really taste just like the German hamburger patties the hubby loves...there really wasn't enough tasty juice to serve over the noodles so next time I'm planning to double the beer and lemon juice...made for "Bill Board" tag game...
