Step by Step Method

Step 1

Cook carrots in a steamer until they're tender-crisp which should take 4-5 minutes.

Step 2

Remove from heat.

Step 3

Melt Butter in a skillet over medium heat.

Step 4

Stir in brown sugar, honey & 2 tablespoons of the Kahlua and cook until it bubbles.

Step 5

Mix the remaining Kahlua with the cornstarch and stir until it's a smooth mixture. Add to the brown sugar mixture.

Step 6

Add salt and cook until the mixture thickens.

Step 7

Add the carrots and toss gently to coat. Continue cooking until the carrots are thoroughly heated.

Step 8

Put carrots in a serving dish and top with the crumbled bacon.

These were certainly interesting! Very sweet, and you certainly can't eat too much, but very good. I was out of honey so I used agave nectar, but otherwise followed the recipe exactly. I was told I could make them again, but not very often because of how sweet they are, but I have plans to make the glaze and use it on other things, like maybe cupcakes.

Oh my gosh! These carrots were a real great addition to our Thanksgiving dinner. Everyone loved them and I got many compliments. I am having them again this Christmas when we dine with my husband's family!
