Step 1

Preheat oven to 375'.

Step 2

Sift brown sugar.

Beat butter till soft and gradually add to the brown sugar.

Blend until very light and creamy.

Resift the flour with the cinnamon, cloves, and soda.

Drop batter from a teaspoon onto a greased sheet, leaving enough space between cookies for expansion.
