"This recipe was handed to me by a long time friend. Its good, not over filling and different. I think it would be a good "any time" soup. I found the garlic and the chicken/tomato cubes at Wal-Mart in the Ethnic section. "

Step 1

Cook beef till done and drain.

Step 2

Put all remaining ingredients EXCEPT cabbage, in large stock pot and simmer.

Step 3

When vegetables are tender crisp, add cabbage.

Step 4

Cover and simmer till cabbage is done.

Step 5

You may add pasta, or other seasonings.

Step 6

I served this with garlic bread.

Just when you think you've made about every combination of Hamburger Soup you find yet another, this has just enough of a difference to make it into my Family Cookbook. Loved the addition of the cabbage, added the optional caraway which we love, it really compliments the cabbage giving it that extra touch. Good soup Kberry, thank you.
