Step 1

In large skillet, cook ground beef and onion over medium-high heat until beef is thoroughly cooked, stirring frequently.

Step 2

Add flour, bouillon and steak sauce to ground beef and mix to combine. Gradually whisk in milk and cook 4 to 6 minutes or until mixture boils and thickens, stirring frequently.

Tonight’s dinner took me back to the 1950s and 60s school cafeterias. I hardly ever bought school lunch except on days they were having hamburger gravy on mashed potatoes, with green beans. This is exactly like it was then. Delicious. Thanks for posting this ultimate comfort food.
