"I use store-bought Swedish meatballs so these are fast to get into the marinade, and I use whatever sausage I find on sale or in my refrigerator. You can replace honey with 1 tablespoon of maple syrup or 1 tablespoon of brown sugar dissolved in 1 tablespoon of water. The prep time/cook time does not include marinating time (at least 30 minutes to overnight). If you don't want to fire up your grill, you can roast at 400°F for about 20-25 minutes, flipping them over halfway through cooking."

Step by Step Method

Step 1

In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, mustard powder, white vinegar, olive oil, minced garlic, dried thyme, paprika, and black pepper to make the marinade.

In a separate large bowl, combine the sausage pieces, Swedish meatballs, bell peppers, and red onion.

Step 3

Pour the marinade over the sausage, meatballs, and vegetables. Toss well to coat all the ingredients evenly. Allow the mixture to marinate for at least 30 minutes, or up to overnight in the refrigerator.

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.

Thread the marinated sausage, meatballs, bell peppers, and red onion onto skewers, alternating the ingredients.

Season the kabobs with salt and pepper to taste.

Brush the grill grates with olive oil to prevent sticking.

Place the kabobs on the preheated grill and cook for about 12-15 minutes, turning occasionally, until the sausage and meatballs are cooked through and the vegetables are tender.

Remove the kabobs from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes.

Garnish with freshly chopped parsley, if desired.
