"This a recipe I found at: haverhillbeefdotcom/RPdelmonicosteakpanseared This is posted for the Culinary Quest 2016. I adapted it, to be less in fat and increased flavor by grilling versus pan searing with oil. This recipe is very basic, just seasoned with salt and pepper, then grilled and then served with a basic herb butter, very similar to the famous "Delmonico's" Steak."

Step by Step Method

Step 1

In a small stainless steel mixing bowl, combine and mix thoroughly the butter, parsley, lemon juice and garlic. On a piece of wax paper, form the butter mixture above into a log shape. Chill the butter mixture log for one-half hour. After the butter mixture log has chilled, slice it into 4 even pieces. Keep chilled to serve on top of each steak.

Step 2

Meanwhile, sprinkle each Delmonico steak with the pepper and salt and any other seasoning/spices that tickle your fancy!!!

Step 3

Once your grill is at medium heat, cook your steak, making some yummy grill marks, to desired level (145 degrees for medium).

Step 4

Serve each steak topped with slice of the chilled butter mixture.

There is nothing better than a good grilled steak, and this one is delicious! I just used NY Sirloin that I got on sale. Who needs a really expensive cut of meat when sirloin is just as tender, and has more flavor!

These are easy steaks to prepare with only a few ingredients from my cupboard. They were exceptionally tasty from cooking on the grill with baked potatoes and sour cream, and grilled zucchini. Such a great meal to end the summer!

This is a great steak! We inhaled a whole NY sirloin steak each! Loved every morsel and I will make them again soon, because the "boss" told me I had to. No arguments here! A side salad went beautifully with this.

Yummy. This is certainly simple and we loved the herbed butter. What's not to love with this one. Thanks for sharing, Lynn. Made for CQ3 - NYC.

Wonderful! I loved that it was grilled rather than pan fried. The butter was just excellent! So easy, too! Thanks for posting! Made for Culinary Quest 2016.
