"This recipe was meant to be served with strawberries, but I think it would work over many other fruits. Peaches come to mind! Serving size is estimated at 1/4 cup per serving, but you'll want the whole jar for yourself! Makes about 2 1/2 cups of sauce."

Step by Step Method

Step 1

In the top of a double boiler, scald the milk, cream and vanilla.

Step 2

In a small bowl, beat the egg yolks and the sugar until light yellow in color.

Step 3

Add the egg mixture to the milk mixture very slowly, whisking constantly over low heat until the sauce thickens.

Step 4

Stir in the Grand Marnier.

Step 5

Pour the sauce into a tighly closing jar and refrigerate. Will keep up to 1 week.

Step 6

Serve over strawberries or other fresh fruit.
