Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 4 large egg yolks
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup Grand Marnier liqueur

How to Make

  • Step 1: In the top of a double boiler, scald the milk, cream and vanilla.

  • Step 2: In a small bowl, beat the egg yolks and the sugar until light yellow in color.

  • Step 3: Add the egg mixture to the milk mixture very slowly, whisking constantly over low heat until the sauce thickens.

  • Step 4: Stir in the Grand Marnier.

  • Step 5: Pour the sauce into a tighly closing jar and refrigerate. Will keep up to 1 week.

  • Step 6: Serve over strawberries or other fresh fruit.
