  • When selecting the prawns, look for ones that are firm, have a mild smell and are free from black spots.
  • When choosing the olive oil, look for one with a mild flavour as it will be used to cook the prawns.

  • Substitute olive oil for coconut oil - Coconut oil is a healthier alternative to olive oil, as it is rich in healthy fatty acids and is known to help with weight loss. It also has a high smoke point, making it a better choice for cooking.
  • Substitute sourdough bread for gluten-free bread - Gluten-free bread is a great option for those who are intolerant to gluten. It is also lower in calories and can be a healthier alternative to traditional breads.

Teriyaki Prawns Heat oil and butter in a large heavy frying pan over medium heat. Increase heat to medium-high and stir in the prawns, garlic and teriyaki sauce and sprinkle with salt and pepper and cook, stirring often, for 3 to 4 minutes or until prawns are cooked through. Remove from heat and stir in lemon zest, 1 tablespoon lemon juice and parsley. Check seasoning and add more salt, pepper or lemon juice if necessary. Spoon prawns and sauce onto serving plates and serve with bread.

Mediterranean Couscous Salad - This flavorful and light side dish is a great complement to the garlic prawns. It is made with couscous, tomatoes, cucumbers, olives, feta, and herbs and is a great way to add some freshness and bright flavors to the meal.

Grilled Asparagus with Lemon and Parmesan: Grilled asparagus with lemon and parmesan is a great way to add some crunch and flavor to the meal. The asparagus is lightly grilled, then tossed with lemon juice and parmesan cheese for a bright, savory side dish. The asparagus pairs well with the garlic prawns and the Mediterranean couscous salad for a complete meal.

I used wild Argentinan prawns. They are a lovely firm prawn. We loved this recipe even without the bread. My 4 garlic cloves were very large ones (love garlic). Great, easy recipe that will be made again.
