Step 1
Combine the beef, breadcrumbs, garlic, parsley, basil, egg, salt, and pepper.

Mix thoroughly, and shape into balls (1 1/2 inches in diameter).
Step 3
Melt oil in a saucepan. Brown meatballs lightly on all sides. Drain off fat.
Step 4
Add tomato sauce, cover, and simmer 40-60 minutes.
