  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup dried bread crumbs
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoon parsley, minced
  • 1 tablespoon basil, crumbled
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper, freshly ground
  • 2 tablespoon oil
  • 4 cups tomato sauce (See *Note in description)
  • 8 ounces Parmesan cheese, grated

How to Make

  • Step 1: Combine the beef, breadcrumbs, garlic, parsley, basil, egg, salt, and pepper.

  • Step 2: Mix thoroughly, and shape into balls (1 1/2 inches in diameter).

  • Step 3: Melt oil in a saucepan. Brown meatballs lightly on all sides. Drain off fat.

  • Step 4: Add tomato sauce, cover, and simmer 40-60 minutes.
