Step by Step Method

Cream sugar and shortening

Add flavoring

Step 3

Add egg one at time

Sift dry ingredients

Then sift again into mixing bowl

Stir in bananas and buttermilk

Stir in nuts

Step 8

Pour batter into pam sprayed greased and floured 9x5x2 loaf pan

Let rest 20 minutes meanwhile preheat 350 degree oven

Let bake 60 minutes

Step 11

Test for doneness with toothpick

Step 12

Let cool 10 minutes

Step 13

Remove from pan cover with towel let cool completely

My daughter made this this for my hubs today, seeing that banana bread is one of his favorites. This bread sure did put a smile on his face as well as ours and it was sure well enjoyed. We keep on picking at it. Followed all as directed, except, that we skipped the black walnut flavoring and for the walnuts themselves due to availability. Thank you, Dee, for sharing. Made it for FYC.
