Step by Step Method

Step 1

Fry or boil hot dogs in a skillet. As the hot dogs are cooking, heat the chili in a heavy saucepan over medium high heat stirring frequently until piping hot. Reduce heat to low and hold hot until ready to serve, stirring occasionally.

Step 2

Place hot dogs in buns and then cover with the chili. Top with chopped onion and serve with desired condiments. You can also toast the buns on a grill or in the oven.

This really went down well. Quick, easy & very tasty, I served them with lettuce, tomato & some fried mushrooms. I'll be making these again soon for my Saturday night special.

The chili we like has beans in it, and we used the whole can for half the recipe, but other than that, made it as stated. It was a good meal, quick, and a nice way to change up your hot dog fixins'.
