Step by Step Method
Step 1
Combine all filling ingredients in a saucepan and heat over low, stirring constantly for approximately 10 minutes, or until thickened.
Step 2
Heat oven to 400 degrees.
Step 3
Grease baking pan, 13x9x2 inches.
Step 4
Cream butter, shortening and sugar.
Step 5
Mix in remaining ingredients and press half evenly into the bottom of the pan.
Step 6
Spread with date filling and top with remaining crumble mixture, pressing lightly.
Step 7
Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until light brown.
Step 8
While warm, cut into bars.
