"What a Southern summer time delight! Served along with some crispy Fried Chicken, Potato Salad, Slaw and some fresh out of the oven Cornbread they can't be beat! Butter beans have a luscious creamy texture and they keep their pretty green color. Don't get them confused with lima beans. They are pale grey to white when cooked and are mealy in texture. I hope you like them like we do!"

Step by Step Method
Step 1
Place butter beans, butter substitute, chicken bouillon and enough water to cover the beans, in a small slow cooker.
Step 2
Cook on high for 1 1/2 hours.
Step 3
Turn crock pot to low and cook for another 2-3 hours, or until butter beans are tender.
Step 4
Add a small amount of additional water during cooking, only if needed.
