"This is a great sauce that is especially great with homemade fettuccine. You can use any pasta you like though. A little tang from the red peppers gives it lots of flavor along with all the other great ingredients added in the preparation. A long time favorite of mine, I hope you like it!"

Step by Step Method

Step 1

In a large skillet, add olive oil and onions. Saute 8 minutes. Add garlic and tomatoes. Simmer 10 minutes.

Step 2

Add pepper flakes, salt, sugar, black pepper, cream, half and half, and cream cheese. Simmer 15 minutes.

Step 3

If you want a thicker sauce, you can simmer the sauce for 2 additional hours on low. Stir sauce every 10-15 minutes.

Step 4

Check seasonings.

Step 5

Add Parmesan.

Step 6

Allow sauce to cool for 15 minutes before serving.

Step 7

Add sauce over noodles in large bowls and sprinkle with additional Parmesan.

Made this delicious Pasta Sauce back in March and about ready to do a rerun. Other than not having fresh basil on hand (the dry worked well for me) I made as directed with great results. Loved this sauce , loved the addition of the red pepper flakes and the added cream. Perfect sauce to have on hand for weekend company. Into my recipe drawer for this one.
