Step by Step Method

Step 1

Sprinkle 2 tablespoons sugar into a nonstick skillet; stir constantly until sugar melts and coats almonds. Remove from heat when almonds are brown. Be careful because almonds burn easily.

Step 2

Mix together poppy seed dressing ingredients.

Step 3

Mix dressing with the salad ingredients; chill

This is one of those, "oh-it's-good", salads. There's just something about oranges (yes, I used fresh oranges) and candied almonds that makes eating greens all the rage. The dressing was the perfect match (though it did make a lot and next time I'll cut it in half). Also added sliced red onions and in place of blue cheese used feta to make the hubs happy. Thanks, Dee, for sharing another awesome tasting dish. Made it for FYC.
